Harrogate Town Centre

Op Spotlight – A collaborative approach with partner agencies to tackle town centre ASB / street drinking and retail theft. This provides dedicated and focused patrols to the town centre based on statistical analysis.

On a daily basis your Neighbourhood team attend such locations as Oxford Street and Victoria Shopping Centre where reports of anti-social behaviour is occurring. Local town centre Police Sergeants regularly attend a meeting of partners, such as Harrogate Bid and North Yorkshire Council to continue this work between all partners involved.

Op Hotspot – National response to ASB which encompasses Harrogate Town. This is data driven and provides dedicated and specifically targeted additional patrols solely to disrupt and prevent ASB whilst gathering evidence.

Your local Neighbourhood Police Team with support from officers around the North Yorkshire County, have been attending identified hotspot areas (such as Oxford Street) at main key times when anti-social behaviour has been reported by members of the public.

Retail Crime – A new dedicated team for prevention and early intervention in retail crime, for Harrogate Town.

This new team work alongside your neighbourhood officers focusing on prevention, early intervention and detection of these crimes. Using both visible and plain clothed patrols targeting hot spot areas. This week resulting in seven theft charges being raised to be put before the court. Recent arrests following reports of offenders committing thefts across Harrogate and North Yorkshire.
