  • Our priorities
  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Our priority is to address behaviour that causes nuisance or negatively impacts the local community. Anti-social behaviour affects many people and will not be tolerated. The Neighbourhood Policing Team treats all reports of ASB seriously and deploys a dedicated ASB patrol vehicle to respond effectively. We work closely with schools and a range of partner agencies to identify those involved and take appropriate action to safeguard the community and reduce further incidents.

    Issued 18 August 2026

    Action taken:

Targeted patrols in hotspot areas to engage with youths, deter ASB and to challenge disorder and criminality.
Identifying repeat victims and perpetrators of anti-social behaviour, and educate young people of the impact of ASB. We will adopt a problem solving approach to locations/victims and perpetrators of ASB to prevent escalation. We will work with housing providers and support services to ensure all appropriate safeguarding and support is in place.

An ASB patrol car has been set up by the local neighbourhood team. This is a dedicated Officer/s who deal with all calls to ASB in York outer on weekends and school holidays.

Community drop in events arranged for different areas of York where ASB has been reported. This allows members of the public to discuss concerns with Officers and receive advice on matters related to the particular area. See the events page for future events

July - There has been an increase in ASB around the area, possibly due to the good weather. Officers are out on foot patrol regularly and educating youths on the impact of their behaviour

August - Unfortunately, due to the school summer holidays, we have seen a rise in reports of ASB. This means an increase in patrols around the City. Data shows us the areas worst effected and where required, we have dedicated patrol plans in place. If you have any concerns around ASB in your area, please contact us

    Actioned 18 August 2026

  • Priority:

To proactively address reports of drugs supply across the York area and take positive enforcement actions

    Issued 18 August 2026

    Action taken:

We will continue to conduct targeted patrols to gather intelligence and disrupt individuals involved in the supply of drugs. As part of neighbourhood policing, officers will pursue all available lines of enquiry, including seeking warrants, to bring offenders to justice.
Officers have been carrying out regular foot patrols across the area, engaging with the community and responding to incidents as required. Patrolling on foot enables officers to access off‑road locations, alleyways, and other areas that are not easily reached by vehicle. This approach is highly effective in identifying and disrupting drug‑related activity within the community.

    Actioned 18 August 2026

  • Priority:

We have seen an increase in reports of Anti social behaviour in the Clifton area of York. This involved young people hanging around outside shops causing a nuisance to shop owners and customers.

    Issued 18 August 2026

    Action taken:

August - The NPT North team now have a dedicated patrol plan for the area. This involves an increase in Officer attendance, foot patrol, community engagement and a crack down on all crime and ASB in the area.
We aim to reduce the reports of ASB in the area.
We will update you every month with actions taken by NYP.

    Actioned 18 August 2026
